On the western side of Crete after Kastelli you will come across the majestic panoramic views of Falassarna. Descending from the village of Platanos you will notice two large beaches separated by some dunes, one being broader and wider than the other thus known as the Long Beach. A little further along you will see another two beaches with sand and rocks on the bottom.

The central great beach of Falassarma
The central beach of Falassarna has been awarded as the most beautiful beach in Crete and is always included in the list of top 10 beaches in Europe. It has fine white sand and crystal clear pristine waters. The area is so vast that even in the busy months of July and August, where the island of Crete is flooded by tourists; it still gives you the feeling of not being over crowded.

Due to the northern and western position it is exposed to winds and thus often has large waves, which pleases lovers of windsurfing. The beach at Falassarma is fully organized with umbrellas and sunbeds running along the beach and there are two bars and cafes offering some snacks, coffee and water. Beach parties are often organised in the evenings and these have become very popular lately which start while the sun sets , offering you an idyllic landscape for entertainment.
